Well Done Cabaret!! | Print

A big congratulations must go out to the cast, crew and production team for the
sell-out season of ‘Cabaret’ end of 2007.

Every year the well-known theatre website “AussieTheatre.com” holds its own set of awards to celebrate the diverse and talented range of Australian Theatre being produced. Awards include Best Professional Musical, Best Independent Professional or Semi-professional Production and Best Direction of a Musical. These awards are then voted on by the general viewing public. Cabaret was nominated for Best Amateur Musical of the Year. WTC had some stiff competition which included CLOC”S “Blood Brothers”, “The Producers” at both Rockdale Musical Society and Whitehorse Musical Theatre in Melbourne and “Thoroughly Modern Millie at Miranda Musical Society. The amazing “Blood Brothers” was the eventual winner. Tthis is still a fantastic achievement for “Cabaret”, to be voted as one of the Top 5 amateur productions of 2007 is something to be very proud of. This nomination shows the great talent and expertise that Willoughby Theatre Company has become well known for.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the production, job well done! Here’s hoping Beauty and the Beast brings more nominations for 2008.
