We are well and truly into rehearsals for Beauty and the Beast. Scenery Construction is progressing well and is coming together to schedule. This particular set, as noted before is one of the largest Willoughby has seen. If anyone knows of budding artists that would be keen to help us dress the set, their help would be greatly appreciated.

I was very pleased to find out that the Willoughby City council accepted our nomination of June Millar for Citizen of the Year Award. If anybody was deserving of an award for services to the community, then June was certainly the right candidate. On Australia Day, June received “The Citizen of the Year Award” at the Australia Day function held by Willoughby City Council, as well as that June made the front page of the North Shore Times. Our congratulations go out to June. Well deserved!

Due to my worry about being evicted from our Scenery Construction and storage area, Roger Douglas and I met with the new General Manager Nick Tobin and the Mayor Pat Reilly to sort out our problems with storage areas. Nick assures us there will be some area put aside for community groups at their new works depot. We thankfully don’t have to leave Artarmon till we bump out of B&B. In the mean time we are still looking for an area to store our props, so if anybody can help us out please contact Roger or myself.
